Inhabitate designs and develops gardens and outdoor areas in all styles, from formal European gardens to Australian native drought-tolerant landscapes.
Inhabitate was founded by James Thomson in 2011. Born and bred in Coburg, he began his professional career as a forest scientist, working to preserve and maintain Victoria's parks and natural resources and developing his knowledge of native plants and environments. With a keen interest in construction and design, James completed his apprenticeship with a large landscaping company with the intention of starting his own business.
He then completed a Diploma of Horticulture, adding an academic landscape gardening qualification to his trade qualification, and began to take on landscaping projects, mostly in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
